Candy & Max got in touch at the start of last year. They had a date, venue, band & cantor for Sept that year. They were a bit stuck with all the rest, had busy lives and needed help with simply getting things off the ground. They had clear visions and ideas of what they wanted for their day, just needed someone onboard that got them and could take their visions and make it happen!
I’m so pleased that this funloving couple came to me & trusted me and my team with their big day. In a few months, we had all the big tickets in place…catering, photographer, decor, chuppah, florist and they could get on with thinking about all the fun they would be having! And it was lots of FUN.

We were drawn to you as a wedding planner because you seem to specialise in the slightly quirky, and that’s definitely applicable to us! We have lots of different strands to us, culturally, and so it would be amazing to capture some of those things in our big day.
Thank you for putting our dreams into a room
This was going to be a Jewish wedding. Because it’s on a Saturday (which is Shabbat the day of rest in Judaism) meant that we had to wait until sundown for their Jewish ceremony, making the whole day a bit topsy turvy in the format. It worked very well with guests having gin cocktails on arrival, a big sharing feast (selected guests as carvers), Jewish dancing before the ceremony at sunset and then lots more high energy dancing!
This is part of the intro Candy + Max did when they first got in touch. The whole story behind this couple really got me and again I’m so happy I could play a part in their love story together. What a couple!
Also worth mentioning is that one of our big early achievements as a couple was that Max became the first person in the world with cerebral palsy to trek to Everest Base Camp on horseback, and I went too. We’re not normally that outdoorsy, but we do like a challenge!
I bring this up, because I wanted to mention that Max uses a wheelchair, and so we want to make sure that everything is accessible to him, and also that this part of him, and of our relationship is kind of... incorporated into the wedding, rather than pretending it’s not a big factor in our lives.

This wedding was a through and through coming together of minds & cultures. Max is Mexican and Candy’s family is French and Australian. That mixed with their love for blue & gold colours we got to work with incorporating all of this into the decor & design. At the end, we had white Mexican bunting (came from Mexico), table design of blue & gold tones with lots of green foliage & spots of colours in the flowers. Light, bright and summery design. Most importantly, it was exactly the right mix of everything they love. Check out the name cards, painted by Max and Candy did the calligraphy. Talented team!
